Macon TD Club honors a Lancer and Trojans

Players from two playoff teams, still playing, are the latest Macon Touchdown Club players of the week.

Co-back: Senior quarterback Donovan Duncan for Tattnall in the 56-21 win over Westfield, completing 15 of 21 for 310 yards and three touchdowns.

Co-back: Versatile senior Jaylun Goodrum was huge in Central Fellowship’s playoff win over Piedmont, with 121 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, plus 79 yards in receptions, an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Defensively, he had 10 tackles and two interceptions, including a pick-6, and a safety.

Lineman: Senior two-way standout Cameron Person had nine tackles, two for loss, and sack from his linebacker spot in the win over Westfield.

The semifinal coin flip is good news forrr …

The GHSA coin flip for home teams of matching seeds Monday came up “flag.”

And that was good news for teams on the top half of the brackets facing the same seed are at home.

That doesn’t matter for Houston County, the fourth-seeded Bears heading to either Roswell or Thomas County Central with a win.

Warner Robins, the No. 2 team in Region 2-5A, is hoping for a Coffee win over Cartersville, because the Demons are on the top of the bracket, and would host Coffee but travel to top seed Cartersville.

The flip did nothing good for Bleckley County, which travels to Metter or Prince Avenue Christian if it beats St. Francis in Class A/Division I. The same goes for Dooly County in Division II, the Bobcats traveling to the survivor of top seeds Bowdon and Early County.

The finals are Dec. 8-10 at Georgia State’s Center Parc Stadium.
