Attempts to get information from region secretaries wasn’t all that successful, but thanks to Jody Dean, Jeff Clayton, and Michael Holmes, and coaches Ray Hardin, Jamarcus Johnson, Jeremy Wiggins, Keith Hatcher, Joaquin Sample for help and clarification.

Here’s a look at GHSA region standings and a look entering the final week, along with the projected seeds.

Region 1-6A

Thomas Co. Central   9-0    4-0

Northside                     6-3    3-1

Lee County                  6-3    2-2

Houston County          7-2    2-2

Veterans                       5-4    1-3

Tift County                   1-8    0-4

It’s clear, yet not. The Northside-TCC winner is first, TCC second if it loses. Officially: “If Northside loses, Houston beats Veterans, and Lee loses to Tift, Northside will finish 3rd. If Northside loses to TCC, and Houston and Lee win, there will be a 3-way tie. Houston will finish 4th in that scenario (on points) and Northside will finish second and Lee third since Northside won the head-to-head against Lee.” There’s more, mostly about third and fourth, but those are the most likely scenarios, with Lee County third and Houston County fourth.
The guess here: TCC, Northside, Lee County, Houston County

Region 2-5A

Dutchtown                   8-1    4-1

Warner Robins            5-4    4-1

Ola                                6-3    4-1

Jones County               5-4    3-2

Union Grove                4-5    2-3

Eagle's Landing          2-8    1-5

Locust Grove               0-9    0-5

Dutchtown is No. 1 with a win over Ola. Warner Robins is No. 1 with a win and an Ola win, No. 2 with a win and Dutchtown win. Jones County is out with a loss to Union Grove, No. 3 with an Ola win, No. 4 with a win and Dutchtown win.
The guess here: Dutchtown, Warner Robins, Ola, Jones County

Region 2-4A

Perry                             8-1    5-0

Spalding                       6-4    4-2

Griffin                           3-6    3-2

Westside                      7-3    3-3

Howard                         6-3    2-3

Baldwin                        3-6    2-3

West Laurens              1-8    0-5

Perry is the region champ, Spalding second (wins head-to-head over Griffin). Griffin gets third with a win (over Baldwin) and Westside qualified with its win over Howard on Thursday. Howard’s loss means Baldwin has to win and hold Griffin to less than 21 points to survive the three-way tie.
The guess here: Perry, Spalding, Griffin, Westside.

 Region 2-AAA

Peach County              6-3    3-0

Jackson                         5-4    2-1

Upson-Lee                   4-6    2-2

Mary Persons              5-4    1-2

Pike County                 2-7    0-3

The Peach County-Jackson winner takes first. Upson-Lee wins a tiebreaker with Jackson, loses it with Mary Persons. Jackson wins a tiebreaker with Mary Persons, loses it with Jackson. A Jackson loss and Mary Persons win equals a three-way tie, with the order of Mary Persons second, Upson-Lee third, and Jackson fourth. A Pike County win over Mary Persons puts Pike County in, Mary Persons out.
The guess here: Peach County, Mary Persons, Upson-Lee, Jackson

Region 1-AA

Fitzgerald                    9-0    5-0

Worth County              8-1    4-1

Berrien                         6-3    3-2

Cook                             6-3    3-2

Dodge County             4-6    3-3

Sumter County            1-8    0-5

Jeff Davis                      0-9    0-5

Dodge County has beaten Cook by 10 and lost to Berrien by six. Berrien has Fitzgerald and Worth County visits Cook. If Worth County beats Cook, the Indians get third. Oddly, that’s the lone scenario, based on points, for Dodge County, third or out.
The guess here: Fitzgerald, Worth County, Dodge County, Cook

Region 2-AA

Spencer                        7-2    6-0

Northeast                     6-3    5-1

ACE                               8-1    5-1

Southwest                    3-6    3-3

Rutland                         5-4    3-3

Central                         2-7    2-4

Jordan                           0-9    0-6

Kendrick                      0-9    0-6

Spencer, Northeast, and ACE are in, regardless. There’s a lot of math involved if there’s a three-way tie for first, and for fourth as well. Southwest is in with a win, but Rutland has a chance with a Central win in an offensive slugfest. ACE needs a big offensive and defensive night to get first, and an average night to get second. There’s all sorts of math involved.
The guess: Northeast, ACE, Spencer, Southwest

Region 4-AA

Thomson                      9-1    7-0

Putnam County            8-2    6-1

Laney                            7-2    4-2

Washington County   4-6    4-3

Westside-August        2-7    2-4

Glenn Hills                   2-7    1-5

Josey                             2-7    1-5

Butler                            3-6    1-5

The four playoff teams are set: Thomson, Putnam County, Laney, and Washington County. Thomson is first.
The guess here: Thomson, Putnam County, Laney, Washington County

Region 2-A/Division I

Dublin                          6-2    3-0

Swainsboro                  8-0    3-0

Bleckley County         8-2    2-2

East Laurens                1-8    0-3

Jefferson County         1-8    0-3

The Dublin-Swainsboro winner is champ, loser second. The East Laurens-Jefferson County winner is fourth.
The guess here: Dublin, Swainsboro, Bleckley County, Jefferson County

Region 4-A/Division I

Lamar County              8-1    2-0

Heard County              5-4    2-0

Temple                         4-4    0-1

Crawford County        2-5    0-1

The top two play each other, and the next two play each other Friday.
The guess here: Lamar County, Heard County, Temple, Crawford County

Region 5-A/Division I

Social Circle                7-2    2-0

Prince Avenue             8-0    2-0

Oglethorpe County    5-4    0-2

Jasper County             3-6    0-2

The top two play each other, and the next two play each other Friday.
The guess here: Prince Avenue, Social Circle, Oglethorpe County, Jasper County

Region 4-A/Division II

Wilcox County            6-3    4-0
Telfair County             7-2    3-1
Dooly County              4-5    2-2
Wheeler County         4-5    2-2
Hawkinsville               3-6    1-3
Treutlen                       0-9    0-4

Hawkinsville needs to beat Dooly County big and have Wilcox County beat Wheeler County for some math to be involved for the Red Devils to get in.
The guess here: Wilcox County, Telfair County, Dooly County, Wheeler County

Region 5-A/Division II

Johnson County           9-0    4-0

Hancock Central         4-5    3-1

GMC                             4-6    3-2

Wilkinson County       5-4    2-2

Glascock County        2-7    1-3

Twiggs County            2-7    0-4

The guess here: Johnson County, Hancock Central, GMC, Wilkinson County

Region 6-A/Division II

Schley County             8-2    7-0

Manchester                  6-3    5-1

Macon County             5-5    5-2

Chattahoochee Co.     5-5    4-3

Greenville                   2-7    2-4

Marion County            2-8    2-5

Taylor County             2-8    1-6

Central-Talbotton       0-7    0-5

The field is set: Schley County, Manchester, Macon County, Chattahoochee County
