Class 6A
No. 8 Houston County, R1/4, 10-2, at No. 5 Gainesville, R8/1, 12-0
The officials better be fairly young and very much in shape, with two teams that can win on a pass-heavy night or a run-heavy night. Itās an interesting coaching matchup, with a rookie head coach facing an experienced legend from Alabama. The Bears are way past being a fourth seed. Theyāve handled a variety of situations, home and road, and advanced. Both teams are in unexpected positions. But Houston County may be a little better prepared for this situation. Regardless, this should be one wild game loaded with holy-cow football. Houston County makes that last have-to-make-it-to-win play, to win. It may not be a huge, but itāll be clutch.
TSR pick: Houston County by 4
Class 5A
No. 8T Warner Robins, R1/2, 8-4, at No. 2 Creekside, R5/1, 10-2
The Demons were better last year, the Seminoles are better this year. Creekside is a chunk better than it was last year, and Warner Robins is playing with house money at this point. Creekside has a serious run game, and will likely be able to do some pounding.
TSR pick: Creekside by 17
Class A/Division I
No. 9T Bleckley County, R2/3, 10-2, at No. 9T St. Francis, R6/1, 9-3
The Knights have been building toward this, in their 13th season. But the Royals have a little more experience on this stage, and are due to get over a hump.
TSR pick: Bleckley County by 13
Class A/Division II
Dooly County, R4/3, 7-5, at No. 8 Lincoln County, R8/1, 9-2
Itās not necessarily a surprise for the Red Devils to be here. It is necessarily a surprise for the Bobcats. Linconlton should abuzz all day, a clear advantage, though Dooly County ignored such things last week.
TSR pick: Lincoln County by 9

Postseason seedings listed
Class AAAA
No. 3 Tattnall, 7-4, at No. 2 Stratford, 8-3
Welcome to the 1980s and 90s, and the Trojans and Eagles battling late in the playoffs. Tattnall remains a very tested team, with two GHSA Class A opponents in the quarterfinals, two opponents the Trojans couldāve beaten. Tattnallās ability to throw ā and, well, catch - is a major difference.
TSR pick: Tattnall by 10
Class AAA
No. 4 Valwood, 7-4, at No. 1 John Milledge, 11-0
*Yawn*. The Trojansā 49th straight win will bear a major resemblance to many of the previous 48.
TSR pick: John Milledge by 35
Class AA
No. 5 Gatewood, 5-6, At No. 1 Central Fellowship, 11-0
The Lancers have way too many weapons. A running clock is a lock.
TSR pick: CFCA by 28
No. 3 Briarwood, 8-3, at No. 2 Brentwood, 8-3
The War Eagles are on a roll, and thatāll pay off in the fourth quarter.
TSR pick: Brentwood by 12
