Mercer at home for doubleheader

It’ll be a full day of hoops at Hawkins with Mercer’s women and men at home.

And Atlanta Braves mascot Blooper will be in the arena.

The women play Samford at 2:30 p.m. to end a four-game homestand. Mercer is 12-6 and 5-1, and Samford is 8-11 and 3-2. The Bears are in sole possession of first, while the Bulldogs are tied for fourth with Furman, Wofford and Chattanooga between them and the Bears.

The men host Furman at 6 p.m.

Mercer is 12-9 and 5-3, while Furman is 15-7 and 7-2. The Bears are in third place and the Paladins in second, right behind Chattanooga.

FVSU welcomes Allen for doubleheader

The Wildcats are at home for the third game of a four-game homestand on Saturday against Allen, second of three at home for the women.

FVSU’s women are 4-11, 2-8 in SIAC play. Allen is 5-13 and 0-3.

The host men are 3-13 and 3-6 while Allen is 4-14 and 0-3.
