Around/about Central Georgia

Henley falls to bottom at BMW

Russell Henley will need planets to align in unprecedented fashion on Sunday to advances to the Tour Championship next week in Atlanta.

Henley is a respectable 2-over after three rounds of the BMW Championship, but that dropped him to last place in the 69-player field for awhile Saturday.

He shot his second straight 73, after a 72.

He followed a 1-under first nine Saturday with a 2-over second night for a 1-over day. Only four of the 69 players are over par, with another two even.

Henley would have to finish in the top four to advance. He is 19 shots behind third place.

Schedule changes for next week start with Bleckley County

It basically became official Saturday, though word started eking out on Friday, that Bleckley County had a new opponent for the third week.

The Royals’ home game against South Atlanta has been canceled, and Bleckley County will travel instead to Toombs County on Sept. 3. The Royals are 2-0, while Toombs County is 0-1, the loss 39-0 to Dodge County. The Bulldogs’ game Friday with Tattnall County was postponed.
