Macon takes advantage of bad pitching in rout
Spartanburg outhit Macon by two, but the Bacon benefited from 12 walks – against 13 strikeouts – for a 13-1 eight-inning home win in Coastal Plain action.
Le Bassett (Mercer) was the only Macon batter with two hits, and was one of four with at least two RBI. Ashton Roy belted a second-inning grand slam and Keaton Anthony added a three-run blast in the sixth. Cam Scheler also had two RBI.
Jeremy Cook fanned 10 in 5.1 innings with only one walk for the win.
