Henley rebounds well early at Travelers
Days after a disappointing finish to a quality U.S. Open, Maconite Russell Henley is back in contention.
Henley shot a 3-under 67 and is in a tie for 15th at The Travelers in Cromwell, Conn.
Cassondra Hall advances to Olympic trials semis
Former Northside and Warner Robins track standout Cassondra Hall has advanced to the semifinals of the women’s 200 meters in the U.S. Olympic track & field trials in Eugene, Ore.
Hall, whose college career started at LSU and finishes at UNLV, had the 16th best time Thursday among five heats.
Her 22.97 was good for fourth in her heat, the first of the night.
The top two in each heat and the next six fastest times advanced. Hall just beat Brittany Aveni of Duke, who had a 23.09.
The semifinals are scheduled for 7:25 p.m. Friday night. The finals are at 10:24 p.m. Saturday.
