The turf at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex will be getting quite a workout Friday as it hosts three
Georgia Athletic Coaches Association all-star soccer games.
The girls will play at 4 p.m., follow by boys juniors at 6 and the senior boys at 8 p.m. Admission is $5.
Nearly two dozen players from Central Georgia high schools – including Class A Public state champ GMC and runner-up ACE – will be in uniform. The junior girls will play the senior girls, while boys are split with North and South.
Central Georgians on the girls juniors’ roster:
Lizzy Mitchell of ACE, Devon Harper of GMC, Janessa Umpierre of East Laurens, and Bleckley County’s Kayla Odum, Harley Corner, and Jonie Lucas.
Bleckley County’s Wesley Odom is part of the juniors’ staff.
On the girls seniors’ roster:
Jones County’s Molly Keenum and Maggie Glover, GMC’s Mary Lawrence, Shelby Duke, and Logan Mitchum, and ACE’s Paige Suk.
Robby Jones of ACE and Kenny Epps of Mount de Sales are the seniors coaches.
GMC’s Avery Kirkland and Andrew Barnes are the area boys on the juniors’ North roster, with Christian Conyers of West Laurens, Demetrius Brown of Veterans, and ACE’s John Haithcock and Bradford Cork on the South roster.
The GMC trio of Jack Harris, Colin McCabe, and Ethan Tolentino are on the seniors’ North roster. Noah Rivers and Tanner Moreau of ACE and Thomas Bobbitt of West Laurens are on the South roster, coached by West Laurens’ Nate Smith and Jay Patel.
