GHSA semifinals

Baseball

6A-Allatoona 6, Houston County 0; Houston County 6; Allatoona 1; at Allatoona, Tuesday, 5 p.m.

The Bears were uncharacteristically handcuffed at the plate, shut out for only the second time this year and held to only four hits (although half were doubles). Houston County reversed things in the nightcap, leading the entire way and getting insurance with three in the fifth. That was more than enough for Coleman Willis, who struck out nine with no walks and seven hits in the complete-game win. Chris Le led the Bears with three hits and two runs from the No. 9 spot. Andrew Dunford and Garrett Hortman added two hits each.

A Public-Gordon Lee 15, ACE 6; ACE eliminated

GISA semifinals

The top of the first went well for ACE with two runs. It went downhill after that, the Trojans scored eight runs in two innings before the Gryphons bounced back with four to pull within 11-6 after three. But that was it, the hosts sealing the elimination-game win with four in the sixth. The Trojans were efficient on the mound, with only two strikeouts and four walks. Trevor Derrick and Sam Whitley had two RBI each for ACE.

GISA semifinal

Pinewood Christian 10, John Milledge 0; JMA eliminated
