It was 8-0 after three, and then a 10-run fourth ended it. Caleb Carr struck out eight in a four-inning one-hitter. Carr had three hits and two RBI while Brennan Hudson drove in four on two and Derontae Stewart three on one. Judd Puckett, Levi Hammock, and Blake Bishop had two hits each, Puckett and Kenneth Taylor with two RBI.

Seven runs in the second put the Bears in control of the five-inning game. Gage Harrelson, Kaden Galason, and Garrett Hortman had two hits each, Harrelson and Andrew Dunford three RBI each. Christian Davis scored three times, and Treyson Hughes and Coleman Willis added two RBI each. The lead in the nightcap was 7-1 after two, and it went five as well. Drew Burness and EJ Lewis had three hits, the Bears getting two from Harrelson, Willis, and Trent Ringer. Willis and Lewis drove in four runs apiece. Houston County (23-6, 7-0 against county opposition) pitching gave up five hits in the two games.
Howard 12, Rutland 3
The Huskies won a couple early innings 3-1 and clinched it with four in the fifth. Gavin Williams (four runs) and Lee Martin had three hits each, Andrew Garnett two hits and three RBI. Landon Daniels struck out seven in four innings and Garnett six in three.
Jasper County/Monticello 8, Washington County 5
The Purple Hurricanes pieced together two walks, a hit batter, an RBI single from Myles Proctor, run-scoring groundout by Tristan Humphries, and RBI single from Cole Hays for three in the eighth. Proctor gave up a two-out single in an uneventful bottom half to seal it. Mac Barton had two hits and two RBI for Jasper County. Cyler Bloodworth had three hits and Jonathan Mobley two for the Golden Hawks.
Jefferson County 8, Putnam County 4
The War Eagles were within 4-2 after four, but couldn’t gain any ground. Chase Lupton and Ashton Jones had two hits each for Putnam County.

West Laurens 4, Perry 2
The Raider took a 3-0 lead after one, upped it with a run in the fourth, and Perry got one in the fifth and seventh, but the trio of Tyler Franks, Eli Floyd, and Gavin White shut the door to lift the Raiders to the region championship. Perry was held to four hits, but couldn’t take advantage of five walks, and stranded eight. Ben McDow struck out seven with two walks in a losing cause.
