Championships for Brentwood and John Milledge, and the chance to win another one for Warner Robins

Central Georgia is home to a pair of GISA state champions, and is home to a GHSA team looking to defend its state championship.

Brentwood and John Milledge won the GISA Class AA and AAA state championships at Mercer’s Five Star Stadium, while Warner Robins had little trouble on the road dispatching of Creekside in a GHSA Class 5A semifinal.

Brentwood took the lead for good late in the first quarter en route to a 37-28 win over Terrell in the GISA Class AA finale.

The War Eagles won their first state title since 2003.

John Milledge’s touchdown just past the midway point of the fourth quarter sealed its 21-0 win over Pinewood Christian in the Class AAA championship.

The Trojans finished their third straight undefeated season with their third straight state title, and third year keeping opponents to less than 100 points.

Warner Robins was hardly threatened, leading 23-0 at halftime en route to a 40-15 win over Creekside to advance to its fifth straight championship game, next Saturday against Calhoun at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta.

Full game stories coming in the morning.

Piedmont fell 27-13 to Thomas Jefferson in the Class A championship, made up of Class AA teams.
