Houston County mourns death of former basketball player
When Charles Brown went missing overnight Monday morning, his brother Andrew posted his own all-points-bulletin on social media, with hopes.

But the hopes turned to nightmares Tuesday with the discovery of the former Houston County basketball player and Kennesaw State student. His body was found by divers Tuesday afternoon at a lake near KSU campus housing.
He was last seen between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Monday morning, and roommates told police he was reportedly heading home to Warner Robins.
Brown played basketball at Houston County from 2017-18 to 2019-20, and averaged 10 points and 2.7 rebounds in his career as one of Houston County’s better players in his junior and senior seasons. He earned assorted all-region honors. He had 12 double-digit scoring games as a junior – including scoring 30 against Crisp County – and as a senior.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the fountain in front of Southside Baptist Church in Warner Robins.
