Last week:  22-6

Season: 151-52, 74.4 percent
Within 7 points of margin: 8, 41 for the season; picked Bleckley County spread

A note: The Sports Report policy is to max out picks at 39 points, although some games could earn a predicted margin of victory in the 40s and 50s.

Games of the Week

Valdosta (3-4) at Northside (5-2)
What statement will Northside make in a statement game? Valdosta is ineligible and all, but it’s still Valdosta, and its on-field losses have been to 5A No. 1, 7A, No. 6, and rival Lowndes. We’re still not sure about the Eagles.

TSR pick: Valdosta by 5

No. 1 Warner Robins (6-0) at No. 5 Ware County (5-1/1-0)
Like folks asked regularly with Alabama: Is this the week? Last week was the week for Alabama. This isn’t the week for Warner Robins. But the Demons do need some tests.

TSR pick: Warner Robins by 24

No. 6 Northeast (5-1/2-0) at No. 4 Bleckley County (7-0/3-0)

Region 3-AA is like a weekly round-robin tournament that just set up a week later to be huge. Northeast won 37-34 in the final seconds last year in Macon, stunning the No. 4 Royals. The home-field advantage will be notable because the home stands will be full. Just like Northeast likes it. But … Watch special teams. Regardless, it’ll be physical and down to the final minute.

TSR pick: Bleckley County by 3

Lamar County (4-3/1-2) at No. 7 Dodge County (4-2/1-1)
The Trojans are amid a second-half slump similar to last year’s, and the Indians are a little better overall. Must-win for Lamar County to stay in the playoff hunt, must-win for Dodge County to stay in the defending-its-title hunt.

TSR pick: Dodge County by 17

ACE (3-2/3-0) at Warren County (4-2/2-0)
ACE can find a spot in a driver’s seat- not the driver’s seat – for a region title with a win. Imagine that. Warren County is unlikely to be looking ahead to GMC. Unlikely, but possible.

TSR pick: Warren County by 11

Notables

Greenville (4-2/1-2) at No. 3 Macon County (6-0/4-0)
Macon County’s closest game this year is 26 points, in the season opener. Greenville’s two losses have been in region by 31 and 33. Do the math.

TSR pick: Macon County by 35

Mount de Sales (3-3/0-1) at FPD (4-2/1-0)
It’s doubtful the Vikings will look past the team that beat Aquinas 35-7, Aquinas topping FPD 27-2 three weeks earlier.

TSR pick: FPD by 11
