Three runs in the fifth put Savannah in control en route to a 6-2 win over error-plagued Macon.
The Bacon committed three errors, leading to two unearned runs. Savannah pitchers had 10 strikeouts and six walks to 12 and five for Macon. Starter Ty Bothwell whiffed seven with two walks in 3.2 innings and got the loss.
Macon was held to four hits. Josh Hood had both RBI.
The split squad won at home, beating Catawba 7-2. Noah Menlinger and Brandin Johnson had three hits each for Macon, Trevor Austin and RJ Yeager adding two each. Starter Alex Huey went five and whiffed five with a walk for the win.
Macon hosts Savannah on Sunday.
