Strong finish lifts Savannah over Macon
Macon’s 2-1 lead was short-lived, and Savannah scored twice in the eighth to beat the visiting Bacon 5-3 Sunday night.
Josh Hood had two of Macon’s five hits, four Bacon pitchers teaming for 10 strikeouts against two walks. Savannah’s staff matched Macon’s strikeouts, with two more walks.
Three of the top four batters in Savannah’s lineup teamed to go 5 for 10 with four runs and two RBI.
The teams play Monday night in Macon.
