GHSA goes from an informational meeting to a season-changing meeting

          The GHSA Board of Trustees meeting went quickly from discussion to action, and the result is a change in the start of the fall season throughout the state.

Familiar face coming back to the Mayhem

          Staying in touch has paid off for the Macon Mayhem.

          Mayhem general manager – and new co-owner – Blair Floyd was aware the the Greenville contract of Kevin Kerr was up for renewal. A little more than a month ago, it wasn’t renewed after he went 54-74-11 in two seasons with the Swamp Rabbits.

          That move came during negotiations for a new ownership group to take over the Mayhem. That announcement came n June 29.

          Now, the new owners have a new head coach, Macon announcing the re-hiring of Kerr Monday morning.

Late surge lifts Savannah past Macon

          The Bananas turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead with three runs in the sixth en route to a 7-2 win over Macon at Luther Williams Field.

          Savannah pitchers racked up 14 strikeouts and four walks, to seven and two for Macon.

          Tyler Williams, Noah Mendlinger, and Jordan Rathbone each had two hits from the top three spots in Macon’s lineup, while Trevor Austin added two hits from the eighth spot.

          The Bacon and Eggs play on Wednesday and Thursday, with Savannah returning to Macon on Friday.
