Weather keeping everybody on their toes, leads to some scheduling changes (2:30 p.m. edition)
Thursday’s weather so far isn’t as bad as predicted, but the threat has led to some changes in Central Georgia sports.
On Wednesday, Region 1-6A pushed its region tournament in Valdosta back a day to Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday, Region 4-AAA did the same, to Friday and Saturday, postponing Thursday’s action at Rutland. Ditto Region 8-AA at Rabun County, with Putnam County involved.
As of 2:30 p.m. Thursday, those are the only region tournament changes that have been publicly announced.
GMC and Stratford soccer in Macon for Saturday was postponed.
Friday’s Georgia College softball games with Catawba have been moved to April 17. The Mercer Invitational softball tournament set to start Friday is still on schedule, as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
