GHSA cross country meet starts Friday
The girls from Bleckley County and ACE will try to defend their respective cross country titles when the state meet gets going Friday morning at Carrollton High.
GMC’s streak of three straight in boys A Public was broken last year. Bleckley County’s boys won two straight, in 2015-16.
Justin Wachtel of Mary Persons won it in 4A last year, but Mary Persons is in 3A this year. Andrew Jones of North Hall, also a senior, won the 3A title last year.
Katelyn Taylor, Haley Whitehead, and Ann Elizabeth Howard were all underclassmen for ACE’s girls last year who finished in the top 15.
