It was 14-all at halftime, Lovett scoring with 32 seconds left on some blown coverage for a 22-yard pass. The teams exchanged third-quarter touchdowns, but Lovett ran and got the conversion for a 22-21 lead with four minutes left. The Bulldogs were stopped on fourth and 4 at Lovett’s 38 with 4:26 left, getting the interception score shortly thereafter.

North Cobb Christian 28, Monticello 21

Northeast 56, Manchester 6

The Raider obliterated Class A’s No. 8 team, leading 28-0 after one and blowing it op en route to a 42-6 halftime lead. The Raiders had cracked 30 points only 12 times in the past five seasons and 40 five times in the span. Northeast tied a program record for points scored (56-14 over Twiggs County, 2017) while racking up the tied-for-third largest margin of victory (50-0 over Baldwin, 1981). It was tied for the third-most points Manchester has given up, dating back to 2014 (Bowdon, 56-14) and then to 1946 (R.E. Lee, 61-0). It was the sixth worst loss in program history, worst since 1976.

Washington County 42, Greenbrier 7

Greenbrier took a 7-6 lead, and the enjoyment on a sunny afternoon at home soon dissipated in a game postponed from Friday. The 3-0 Golden Hawks won this game 55-6 a year ago.
