A fairly full Friday night of high school football
And it was pretty warm at kickoff throughout Central Georgia and the state.
Not every kept official scores, but people were keeping scores.
Rutland and new head coach Rusty Easom (right) headed to FPD, and the Vikings smacked the Hurricanes on the first play, a long run by that set up a touchdown less than two minutes into the game.
Unofficially, FPD won 27-8, taking a 21-0 halftime lead.
was a good one, putting the Vikes immediately in the red zone.

The Gryphons got more than enough with six runs in the third, Rutland chipping in with four errors that led to two unearned runs. Lizzy Mitchell, Mary Elizabeth Ballard, and Taylor Anne Martin had two hits each for ACE, and the trio teamed for nine RBI. Sara Winters, Dixiana Sims, and Mitchell each scored twice.
Alexander 3, Tattnall 1
Two runs in the third were the difference for Alexander, which got a 12-strikeout night from Jordan Eslinger.
ECI 9, Crawford County 0
It was a scoreless tie through five, and then ECI went off for five in the sixth, doing all of its damage with singles.
Lanier County 9, Crawford County 1
Lanier County went up 6-0 after two, aided by a four-error Crawford County night.
Pierce County 15, Bleckley County 1; Bacon County 8, Bleckly County 2
Tattnall 9, Whitewater 1
The Trojans got a little cushion with three in the second and a big one with four in the fifth. Hailey Daughtry threw a three-hitter with two walks and two strikeouts. Jaelyn Darley and Grace Hiller had three hits each, Hiller with three RBI, and Courtney Ball added two hits and two RBI.
Braves Report
Mike Soroka left to a nice ovation and congratulations, having done a fine job against a superb Los Angeles offense.
Soroka departed after 6.2 innings, four strikeouts, three walks, seven hits and three runs.
Before he could get comfortable in the dugout, all was gone and the Dodgers went on to an 8-3 win in the series opener before an announced crowd of 41, 413.
Sean Newcomb (5-3) coughed up three runs on two hits and two homers on just 16 pitches, and the Dodgers were in control and stayed there.
Jerry Blevins gave up two runs in an inning, while the Braves managed all of two hits in the final five innings.
The Dodgers belted four homers and 11 hits, the Braves countering with six hits and one extra-base hit, an Ender Inciarte double.
