Hey, I know you: Former Houston County Bears in opposing pro dugouts
They were never teammates in high school, but they were Houston County Bears.
And earlier this week, pro baseball opponents when Peoria visited Burlington in Class A Midwest League action.
Jones, who turned 23 on May 20, went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday, a day after going 1 for 4 with a run. Thatās upped his average for the season to .228.
He was a four-year standout at Georgia State, starting at shortstop from the beginning and earned a slew of academic honors, too.
Jones signed with the Angels after the 2018 season. That was nine years after playing for the Warner Robins American Little League World Series team.
Locey, who celebrates his 20th birthday on July 29, hasnāt pitched since July 5. He has three innings under his belt, with four strikeouts, three walks, and one hit.
His Georgia career ended after three stellar seasons when he was picked in the third round of the draft last month by St. Louis.

Central Georgians set for state am
Former FPD standout and current Georgia Southern golfer Wilson Andress is among the contingent of Central Georgians competing this week in the Georgia State Golf Associationās state amateur tournament.
First tee is 7:30 a.m. at Ansley Golf Club-Settindown Creek.
FPD sophomore Luke Dasher, who won the GSGA state junior championship nearly 13 months ago and finished tied for 20th last month, is in the field, too.
Also from Macon (according to the tee times): Steve Welsh, John Walker, and Allen Peake.
Dodge County grad and Piedmont golfer Michael Clardy and Stan Gann of Warner Robins are in the field as well.
Dasher and Gann are the only area players to have made the cut last year. The 2018 field included Andress, Peake, Coleman Tidwell, and FPD grad and Mercer signee Jay Spivey.
The last Central Georgian to win? Maconās Russell Henley, who defended his 2008 title at Idle Hour with a win in 2009 at the Country Club of Columbus.
Macon to start second half on Thursday
Maconās first game of the second half of the Coastal Plain season was rained out Wednesday night, Florence announced.
Macon and Florence tried in South Carolina to no avail, and theyāre scheduled to play Thursday in Macon.
