Tech golfers qualify for U.S. Open
Rising junior Noah Norton leads a contingent of four Georgia Tech golfers who qualified Monday for the 119th U.S. Open Championship.
That makes six current or former Yellow Jackets in next week’s tournament at Pebble Beach, Calif.: third-year PGA Tour pro Ollie Schniederjans, seventh-year Tour pro Roberto Castro ; All-American Chesson Hadley, a sixth-year PGA Tour pro who currently ranks 70th in FedEx Cup points; Matt Kuchar; Stewart Cink.
There are more qualifying tournaments, so the Tech group is likely to grow.
