Braves Report
The O of the past week mostly stayed in the history books, Atlanta managing all of five hits in falling 10-2 to the New York Mets.
The Braves avoided being shut out for the first time since falling 9-0 on May 7 to the Dodgers on the road, getting one-out back-to-back solo homers in the bottom of the ninth from Freddie Freeman and Josh Donaldson.
The nonexistent offense came after a stretch of at least five runs in nine straight games, and a 27-4 winning margin in their last two games.
St. Louis handed Atlanta its worst loss of the year by margin, the Cards winning 14-3 on May 14.
Jacob deGrom nearly threw a rare complete-game shutout, but Freeman broke the shutout with a powerful solo home. DeGrom had three career complete games, but only one shutout, in 2016. Donaldson followed with a homer, his second hit of the game and 13th of the season.
Julio Teheran had the rare rough outing.
It was the most runs scored by an opponent since Washingtonās 14-4 win on May 29.
