          Mercer will visit Jacksonville on Tuesday in an NCAA women’s lacrosse tournament play-in match.

          The winner faces Michigan, a national eighth seed, on Friday. Mercer, champ of the Southern Conference, is 10-9, while the Atlantic Sun winners are 16-3. Jacksonville beat Mercer 21-6 in April. …

          Mercer passed last year’s run total and carries some momentum into the Southern Conference softball tournament with a doubleheader sweep at Furman. The Bears are seeded fourth and open the tournament at 10 a.m. Wednesday against No. 5 ETSU. …

          Collin Price delivered a walk-off single for a 1-0 win in the opener to give Mercer the series, but Samford prevented a sweep with a 7-2 win in the nightcap. …

          Georgia’s baseball team did something this weekend it hasn’t done since the oldest player was pretty young. …

          Mississippi left Athens being swept by Georgia in SEC softball.

          UGA is the eighth seed in the SEC Tournament at Texas A&M and played Arkansas at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. …
