Central Fellowship falls in pair of tight GICAA title games
Central Fellowship and Citizens Christian got the most out of their GICAA state championship series, but host Citizens Christian got a little more.

The Patriots pulled ahead in the fifth to win the opener 4-3 and then stormed back with three in the seventh to win the nightcap 8-7 and take the Divisin I-A series.
CFCA got one in the third and two in the fourth to tie the opener after the Patriots picked up three in the first. The hosts took the lead on a two-out throwing error.
The Lancers got the first two batters of the seventh on only to hit into a double play and then strike out to end it.
The Lancers suffered five errors in the nightcap, leading to four unearned runs.
The Patriots put across three runs in the top of the seventh, with no help from CFCA’s defense. Citizens Christian got the leadoff batter on, but then got two outs.
Four singles and three runs followed for an 8-7 lead. CFCA, which led 2-1 after one and 5-2 after three, got a pair of two-out runners only to end the game on a fielder’s choice grounder to third.
Dawson Ezell struck out seven with no walks in the first game, and he had two hits in the nightcap, as did Jeb Walls, Cole Phillips getting three hits.
CFCA ended the season at 20-6.
