The Raiders broke an 18-game Cairo winning streak in the 4A opener, boosted by a six-run fourth. Brody Slaughter took care of half of the runs in that inning with a two-out three-run homer to right. He had two hits, along with Bradley Wilson and Carson Estep, Wilson and A.J. Mathis with two RBI. Mathis went all five, striking out six and needing only 63 pitches. Cairo’s two-run fifth pulled the hosts to within one, but reliever Wilson faced the minimum in the final two innings. He went 2-for-2 with three RBI, and a homer, for half of the Raiders’ hits.

Emily Arp scored the game-winner off Logan Mitchem’s pass 31 seconds into overtime, and Macie Newell had three saves in the extra period.
B-GMC 2, Trion 1, OT
The teams scored early, and battled through the second half and overtime. Then tied in PKs - Ethan Tolentino, Michael Barnes, and Taylor Shrerwood made theirs - Sean Herndon blocked Trion's final attempt, and Dylan Smith scored to push the Bulldogs into the next round. Tolentio scored off Sherwood's assist so GMC could tie it in the 21st minute.

JaMya Spivey got the Bears on the board with an assist from Emari Andico. Mackenzie Eader scored what ended up being the game-winner on a free kick after a penalty.
