Cronic named to head Mercer football
As expected, Mercer picked Lenoir-Rhyne head coach Drew Cronic, making the announcement Tuesday evening.

GACA All-State softball teams named
Players from nine Central Georgia teams made the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association’s all-state softball teams in their respective classes.
Class 6A first team: outfielder Madi Campbell, Houston County. Second team: infielder Kendall Huelsman and outfielder Alice Thomas, Houston County.
Class 5A first team: infielders Madison Bennett and Mackenzie Kilpatrick Jones County. Second team: pitcher Savannah Williams, Jones County.
Class 4A first team: catcher AliRae Dykes and infielder Terra Odom, Perry. Second team: outfielder Raegan Stella, Perry.
Class AA first team: pitcher Yevak Brinkley and infielder Cayla Bishop, Lamar County. Second team: pitcher Linzy Bowen, infielder Aniyah Black, and outfielder Makiyah Roberson, Dodge County.
Class A Public first team: infielder Whitley Ward and outfielder Mary Katherine Lawrence, GMC. Second team: infielders Makenna Talcott and Bella Herring, GMC.
Class A Private first team: pitcher Jordyn Partain, catcher Sarah Hatcher, Mount de Sales; infielders Courtney Ball and Kaitlyn Hallman, outfielder Jaelyn Darley, and utility/DP Kenna Epps, Tattnall.
