Rammer Jammer, Orange Hammer, Clemson beats down Alabama

          Freshmen at quarterback and receiver played like 25 year olds, and the defense was full of grown men.

          And they didn’t play for Alabama.

          Clemson throttled Alabama 44-16 for the college football playoff national title, reeling off 31 straight points and putting the game away in the third quarter.

Chad Alligood resigns at Washington-Wilkes

          Chad Alligood, a Wilkinson County grad who has been an assistant at several Central Georgia schools, has resigned as head coach at Washinton-Wilkes after two seasons.

          He was hired in Feb. of 2017 and went 10-12 in two seasons, 7-5 in 2017 and 3-7 in 2018. His successor will be the Tigers’ third head coach in five years.
