Big basketball night for area teams

          Mercer’s women picked up an overtime win at home, FVSU’s women got a rivalry win, Middle Georgia State’s men knocked off a ranked team, and Georgia College split, the men getting a ranked scalp while the women lost at the horn.

Area wrestling picks up steam

          Central has advanced to the state duals for the first time in school history.

          Houston County finished fourth at the Area 1-6A duals, losing to Lee, Coffee, and Valdosta, and beating Northside. Reed Vincent (160) and Bryan Hernandez (138) went 4­-0.
