Sunday's Braves Report: No letdown, quality Sanchez performance

Backups get some action, beat Phillies anyway

Anibal Sanchez broke a streak, thanks to a bunch of backups, as Atlanta eliminated Philadelphia with a 2-1 win Sunday.

Atlanta improved to 88-68, second-best record in the NL.

Starters Nick Markakis and Freddie Freeman got at-bats before leaving amid standing ovations. Ronald Acuna pinch-hit late.

Lane Adams had a homer and two RBI, playing center for Ender Inciarte.

Sanchez improved to 7-6 with four hits a run and a walk in five innings for his first win since early August. He also got his first hit since April 9, 2014.

Max Fried, Sam Freeman and Shane Carle finished it off on the mound.
