          Rutland outhit the Bulldogs, but stranded a painful 13 runners. Alissa Rozier, Faith Ann Rozier, and Emma Heath had three hits each, the Roziers driving in two runs each and Heath three. Emma Cantrell added two hits.

Mary Persons 11, Northside 6

          The Bulldogs led 8-4 after three. Faith Ann Rozier and Aleah Hayman each drove in four runs on two hits, , while Destiny Middleton had three hits and four runs, and Emma Cantrell two hits. Celena Luna had four hits for Northside, Madelyn Lee and Kylee Ussery with two hits each.

Rutland 4, Warner Robins 3

          Rutland scored three in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win. Breasia Davis tripled to left to bring in Kaitlyn Greene and Kinleigh King, who reached on a one-out error and a walk, to tie it. Then Taylor Stewart singled to center to easily score Davis with the game-winner for Rutland, outhit 8-4.

          The Bobcats improved to 6-1-1 with three players – including Mount de Sales grad Sofia Lekas – scoring goals.

M-Georgia State 1, Mercer 0

          40 fouls were called in a match during which both teams had 16 shots, the lone goal coming in the 20th minute.

Flagler def. Georgia College 25-21, 25-19, 25-27, 17-25, 15-13

          The rematch of the 2017 Peach Belt championship went to the visitors, who overcome Georgia College’s momentum to survive and win the fifth set.

 

UNCG def. Mercer 22-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 16-14

          The Bears had 13 more kills and nine more errors as their six-game winning streak fell with their first loss at home this season.
