Mitchell Fineran has played in two college football games, and he has two conference player of the week honors.
The Peach County grad is the Southern Conference special teams player of the week. Again.
The Samford freshman hit field goals of 30 and 36 yards and was perfect on two PATs in the Bulldogs' near-upset of Florida State. He averaged 63.7 yards on six kickoffs. ...
Georgia College's Unnbjorg Omarsdottir and Ashlee Graham took a pair of Peach Belt Conference soccer honors.
Omarsdottir is the defensive player of the week after scoring the lone goal in a win over Montevallo, and helped the Bobcats to another shutout.
Graham is the league's top goalkeeper with two saves in a 1-0 win over Montevallo, and then five in a 1-0 win over West Georgia.
She has four shutouts in four games and is the defending keeper of the week.
The pair helped the Bobcats to a 4-0 start.
Georgia College plays Tampa Wednesday at Valdosta State.
