Braves bring back McCann, to sign Donaldson

          Atlanta started the week off with a newsy Monday, catcher Brian McCann looking to retire a Brave. Josh Donaldson will sign for a year.

 

Culberson to speak at Mercer's First Pitch banquet

          One of the key figures in Atlanta’s surprising season will be the guest speaker at Mercer’s First Pitch Classic banquet on Jan. 17.

          Charlie Culberson, who batted .270 with 12 homers and 45 RBI in 113 games for the Braves, joins former Braves Jeff Francoeur, Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy, John Smoltz, and Mark Teixeira as the featured speaker at the Bears’ season-opening banquet.

          Culberson has played with San Francisco, Colorado, and the L.A. Dodgers, playing in the 2017 World Series with L.A. He is from Rome and graduated from Calhoun.
