HSFB 2018, polls & predictions: Dublin cracks top 10s; Maxwell predictions

           Dublin is back, at least poll-wise.

          The Irish cracked both the Georgia Sports Writers Association and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class AA polls after thumping Tattnall 55-0 Saturday in the Macon Touchdown Club Middle Georgia Kickoff Classic.

          They join region buddy Dodge County, which was idle and is 6/7, with Washington County getting votes in the GSWA list.

          Northside only dropped one spot in the GSWA poll, but fell five in the AJC list after losing to Class 3A Peach County in the Macon Touchdown Club Middle Georgia Kickoff Classic.

         Interestingly, the Trojans dropped from first to second in the sportwriters poll and moved up one in the AJC, still trailing Calhoun and Cedar Grove.

         Calhoun was off, and Cedar Grove beat Hewitt-Trussville, Ala., a semifinal team last year in that state’s highest classification.

        Dooly County improved one spot in the AJC’s Class A public poll after opening the season with a win, and Stratford hung on at No. 10 in the private ranking.

       Westside in 3A is on the verge, but that classification is so loaded, even a road win this week against a Class 4A team with a winning record might not be enough.
