Macon TD Club honors trio
Three different schools are represented by this week’s Macon Touchdown Club players of the week, including a school in its second week of varsity GHSA action.
Westside’s TyShaun Freeman is the back of the week after running for two touchdowns and 170 yards on 31 carries, and the game-winning touchdown in the overtime win at Harris County.
Howard’s DeAndre Shelton is the lineman of the week after racking up four solo tackles, four assists, a tackle for loss, sack, blocked kick and two fumble recoveries in the romp over FPD.
And ACE’s Tate Turner took special teams honors with three punt returns for 81 yards, to go with 48 rushing yards and eight tackles as the Gryphons thumped Notre Dame Academy for their first win.
