Mary Elizabeth Ballard drove in four runs and Macie Allen three to lead ACE to the win over the 5A Demons. Ballard and Allen also teamed for the win on the mound, with eight strikeouts.

The Bears barely gave the concessions time to set up, with two three-inning games. De’Jah Dunn fanned six with a perfect game in the opener, sparked by two-hit games from Abby McDowell, Lauren Ross, Dunn, Jocelyn Ross, and Hannah Ott. Ross threw a perfect game in the nightcap, striking out six with no walks. Otto, Lani Cherny, Kendall Huelsman had two hits each, Cherny, Huelsman, and Averi Martin driving in three runs each.
Lamar County 12, Temple 5
Aishja Wilcher went 4-for-5 with four runs for Lamar County, while Ryla Traylor added three hits and two RBI.

Kaitlyn Green had four RBI and Bailey Caldwell three – with five hits between them – to lead Rutland, which finished it with five in the fifth and took advantage of four Bulldog errors.

Hall of Famer Landers to speak at Mercer women’s hoops banquet
Longtime Georgia women’s basketball coach Andy Landers will be the featured speaker at the Mercer women’s basketball fund-raiser this fall.
The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame will host the event on Oct. 9.
The $50 ticket includes dinner catered by Edgar’s Hospitality Group, Mercer head coach Susie Gardner discussing the 2018-19 Bears, and Landers.
His son Drew is on the Mercer women’s staff.
Andy Landers spent 36 years at Georgia, winning seven SEC titles, four SEC tournaments, and reaching five Final Fours, two with Gardner on the roster.
