Monday's Braves Report (postgame edition)

Offense shows up big on the road

Atlanta scored in seven of nine innings and tripled Miami in hits in a 12-1 rout on the road, in front of an announced crowd of less than 9,000.

Sean Newcomb went six innings with five strikeouts, four walks, four hits and a run, improving to 9-5.

Charlie Culberson went 4-for-6 with three RBI, Endar Inciarte went 3-for-5, and Atlanta got two-hit nights from Ronald Acuna, Freddie Freeman, Johan Camargo, and Dansby Swanson.

Will they trade for a reliever?

          Seems like they need to.

Albies still sitting

That’ll be a good test for the offense.

Notes: Acuna+leadoff=good; and plenty more

The experiment is looking pretty good.

Snitker on Sam Freeman: "We need that kid to be a big part of what we're doing down there. He's capable, he's done it before and he'll do it again. We just need to hang with him."/GB

It'll be a two or three weeks until Vizcaino starts throwing again. Braves expect him back this season. Same for Soroka, although there's less certainty he'll return. Albies still expected to return Thursday. Culberson's filling in again./GB

Soroka is still at least a couple weeks away from being cleared to begin throwing. The further he gets pushed back, the more likely it is he’ll miss the rest of the season./MB

Viz is also a couple weeks away from being cleared to throw. But because he’s a reliever, there’s still expectation he’ll have time to recover and return before the end of the season./MB

Everyday third baseman Johan Camargo knocks in a pair. He has a team-high 27 RBIs since June 1./GB

Swanson's solo shot was his 17th career homer and third hit against what was intended to be a slider. His other two: 6/17/17 vs. Eickhoff (PHI) and 6/5/18 vs. Lyles (SD)/MB

With runners on, Camargo is hitting .311 with 35 RBIs (102 at-bats). He's hitting .321 with runners in scoring position (56 at-bats)./GB

Through tonight's third-inning double, Freeman is hitting .517 (15-for-29) w/ a .576 OBP and 1.069 SLG against the Marlins this year. He has a double and five homers within this span of 29 at-bats./MB

Ronald Acuna hitting No. 1, a small sample: 8-for-13, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 SB./GB

Freddie Freeman: Charlie Culberson is the MVP of our team./GB
