Macon gets back on the winning track
The Bacon scored three runs in the first two innings and quality pitching made it stand in Macon’s 4-0 win over Florence.
Dylan Spacke went 6.1 innings and struck out nine with three walks. Patrick Orlando finished things up with four strikeouts and no walks as Macon earned its second shutout of the season.
Cal Gentry (Perry/Georgia College) went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, Riley King and Alex Crotty also have two-hit nights.
Gentry and King got Macon (8-11) going in the first. Gentry singling and King doubling, both advancing on a wild pitch. King scored on a throw to second on a stolen base attempt.
Crotty’s two-out double and Zach Weisz’s single added a run in the second.
Macon’s three-game homestand continues Monday against Lexington County and Tuesday against Gastonia.
