Atlanta does some wheeling and dealing in NBA Draft

Atlanta was fairly quiet going into the NBA Draft, but the Hawks made some noise once things got going.

They chose Luka Doncic with the third pick, but soon worked a trade with Dallas to get Oklahoma guard Trae Young at No. 5 and a 2019 first-round selection.

They added 6-7 guard Kevin Huerter of Maryland at 19, and Villanova forward Omari Spellman with the 30th pick.

They finished the night by grabbing Kansas guard Devonte Graham with the 34th overall pick, and then trading him to Charlotte for two future second-round picks.

The 60-pick draft production came to an end after more than four hours, just after midnight.

Georgia Tech’s Josh Okogie was picked 20th in the first round by Minnesota.
