Henley battles more bogeys, but finishes US Open with some momentum; full Open coverage

The final three rounds couldn’t match the first round, when Russell Henley shared the lead of the US Open.

There were bogeys galore, and too many double bogeys.

But Henley at least remained fairy consistent once the hole was dug.

Henley finished with a 73, to go with rounds of 69, 73, and 77, for a 292. That tied him with Jason Dufner, Charles Howell, Justin Thomas and Ian Poulter, among others, for 25th.

His visit to Shinnecock did end with some momentum. While Henley had no birdies on the back nine, he had only one bogey, for a 1-over 36, a shot better than his front nine, which had three bogeys – and early – with one birdie.
