Signings/commitments update

          Three Central girls basketball standouts followed up commitments with signings.

          Jada Clowers is headed to St. Petersburg (Fla.) College, while Jenya Wilder and Tyleia Williams are bound for Snead State (Ala.) Community College.

          Clowers has made three all-state teams and Wilder one, while Williams was a first-team all-region player, joining her teammates. ...

Honor Roll

          Four Central Georgia high schoolers are among the 11th annual Dooley Scholarships finalists.

          The awards ceremony is May 12 at the College Football Hall of Fame.

          Sadie Frame of FPD, Emily Harrison of Trinity Christian, Margaret Henry of Lamar County, Sammy Martin of Stratford are the area finalists.

          Other nominees of the Dooley Award: Bryce Robinson, East Laurens; Garrett West, FPD; Alexandra Estrada, Peach County; Ben Deal and Taylor Cobb, West Laurens; and Greg Holloway, Westside.
