          From high school fields to a national all-star game and to college, in less than two months.

          That’s why life is like for increasingly more high school football players, including from Central Georgia.

          The Under Armour All-America game is tonight, Jan. 4, at 6 p.m. on ESPN from Orlando, Florida.

          Central Georgia will be represented by Macon County offensive lineman and Florida State-bound Christian Meadows playing for the Spotlight team.

          Peach County’s Kearis Jackson was invited, but he continues to rehab a late-season wrist injury that kept him out of the Trojans’ final few games and won’t play.

          Other Peach State products playing: CB Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta, S Myles Sims of Westlake, WR/DB Quindarious Monday of Carver-Atlanta, OL Quay Walker of Crisp County, DL Brenton Cox of Stockbridge, QB Emory Jones of Heard County, S Trey Dean of Dutchtown, QB Justin Fields of Harrison, WR Matthew Hill of Brookwood, DT Robert Cooper of South Gwinnett, OT Dylan Wonnum of Tucker.,

          And again, Houston County is represented for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, to kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday from San Antonio, Texas on NBC.

          Guard Trey Hill is on the East roster for the game.

          Joining Hill on the East is another Georgia commit, Rome’s Adam Anderson, whose final high school game was in Houston County, in the Class 5A state title win over Warner Robins.

          Other Georgia players on the East roster: DB Derrik Allen of Lassiter, QB Trevor Lawrence of Cartersville, DL Justin Mascoll of South Gwinnett, DB Kyler McMichael of Greater Atlanta Christian, DL Azeez Ojulari of Marietta, LB J.J. Peterson of Colquitt County, OL Jamaree Salyer of Pace, WR Josh Vann of Tucker, DB Christian Tutt of Thomson, and QB Jarren Williams of Central Gwinnett.

          Todd Wofford of Central Gwinnett and Joey King of Cartersville are on the East coaching staff.

          Former Houston County quarterback Jake Fromm played in last year’s game.

          Hill and Meadows were teammates at Macon County before Hill transferred to Houston County after his freshman season. Hill was also a teammate in Montezuma of current Georgia linebacking star Roquan Smith.
