High school all-star games set next week for Henderson Stadium, Freedom Field, and Mercer with loads of Central Georgians

            A selection of all-star games is on tap for Central Georgia next week, with more in Atlanta.

            The Georgia Elite Classic freshman, sophomore, junior and senior games are at McEachern in Atlanta on Thursday.

            Freedom Field in Warner Robins will host a tripleheader on Dec. 28 sponsored by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association, while the Georgia Sports Alliance all-star game set for Saturday at Henderson Stadium has been pushed back to Dec. 30.

            The GACA is hosting a sophomore game at 11 a.m., followed by juniors at 3 p.m. and seniors at 7 p.m.

            And Mercer will host the Georgia Junior Bowl on Dec. 30 at 3:30 p.m.

            Area coaches for the South juniors in the GACA game include Peach County’s Chad Campbell (head coach) and Todd Cooper, Bleckley County’s Von Lassiter and Sean Patrick, Rod Harris of Houston County and Shaun Pope of Putnam County.

            On the South sophomore game staff are Ashley Harden of Northeast, Jimmy Dudley of Jones County, Brian Nelson of Mary Persons and Michael Lee of Perry.

            Baldwin head coach Jesse Hicks is on the Dedication staff, led by former Southwest head coach Maurice Freeman of Brooks County.
