Nathan O’Rear stroked a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh, and stole second, putting the winning run in scoring position. Carson Shaw drilled an 0-2 pitch off of third baseman Nicholas Ruotolo, who then collided with O’Rear trying to come around. Both hit the turf, the ball bounced into left field, and O’Rear hopped up and sprinted home with the winner to send the 24-8 Panthers into the Elite 8. Shaw had 2 of Perry’s 6 hits. Kamerson Vandersee with 6.1 innings and struck out 5, battling through 6 walks. Colter Ginn – who drilled a homer in the bottom of sixth to tie it - got the final two outs in the top of the seventh of the tie game to set up the dramatics..

Three Mary Persons baseball players have signed: Ryan Causey with Oglethorpe, Jake Grant with Andrew, and Ian Lewis to Thomas.
Jordan Wright, a four-year regular for Dublin who averaged 5.5 points and 4.3 rebounds, signed with Southern Crescent Tech for women’s basketball.
