Baldwin trailed by one at halftime and 10 in the second half before going back inside and getting the lead in a back-and-forth quarter. Baldwin led 49-46 with 14.6 seconds left, only for Heritage to tie it with a 3 from the left corner. Baldwin inbounded from halfcourt with 4.3 seconds left, and Janaye Walker was fouled, making 1 of 2 at the line with 1.1 seconds left. Walker led the defending champs with 21 points and 9 rebounds, Kassidy Neal adding 19 and 8, plus 4 assists. Suri Clark chipped in 10 rebounds.

Model 34, Lamar County 31
The Trojans trailed 30-20 after three and stayed close but couldn’t get ahead of Model. Lamar County’s last lead was 13-12 two minutes into the second quarter, Model taking a 21-14 halftime lead. Lamar County’s Makayla Watts drained a 3 with 4 seconds left to make it a one-possession game, but time ran out on the Trojans.

The hosts dug themselves a 16-point halftime hole, but finally got the lead on a Morgan Cochran bucket early in the fourth quarter. She came up bigger when it counted the most, draining a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the win. She went off for 27 points and 15 rebounds, Aniah Lake adding 12 points and Aliyah Lake 10.
