The Sports Report

Under normal circumstances, this would’ve been a Monday of some shuffling, but Helene took care of that.

A number of key games won’t be played for a week or two, or whenever.

Not much movement this week, but movement is coming.

Division I (5A, 4A, 3A) 12 teams

5. Jones County

There’s certainly no shame in losing to a one-loss team on the road, but the Greyhounds will grumble about how they lost a big winnable game.

4. Peach County

          Had the week off.

3. Perry

80? Really? Did New Hampstead wear furry red uniforms with white trim and say “ho, ho, ho” instead of “hut, hut, hut”?

2. Houston County

A solid TCOB win over Veterans.

1. Warner Robins

Rerun from last week: It’s not a huge gap with the top three, but the Demons still get the edge.

Division II (2A, A, GIAA) 33 teams

(To be updated after Monday night games)

Top 10

10. Stratford

The Eagles clicked well in romping over John Milledge.

9. ACE Charter

The Gryphons likely weren’t moving if they had taken care of business against East Laurens, which is postponed.

8. Tattnall

The Trojans’ showdown with Bulloch was postponed.

7. Hawkinsville

The Red Devils play Monday night, so, this will be updated.

6. FPD

Hard to believe the Vikings had a consecutive 6-point outpoints not that long ago.

5. Jasper County

Will the momentum be slowed by not playing last week?

4. Lamar County

The Trojans are winning games by almost the same margin as the past few years, but it sure doesn’t seem like that. Lamar County is definitely scoring less.

3. Northeast

Man, that game at Dublin at the time might’ve been more interesting than expected, because Maxwell’s computer rating aside, the reality is that Northeast was – and is – an underdog. It still might be, but changing routines can have an impact.

2. Dodge County

Playing on a Wednesday sure didn’t disrupt things, the Indians cruising.

1. Dublin

The stunning thing was that the Irish were a one-point underdog according to the Maxwell Computer Ratings.
