Wednesday's Report: Mercer, Georgia College, FVSU, MGSU, Wilkinson County; Falcons battle Dolphins, UGA vets anxious, Braves bopped; Olympics, MLB, college šŸˆšŸ€, NBA

CFCA 12, Flint River 5
          Alena Gibby led the Lancers with 3 hits and 4 RBI, Abby Vessey adding 3 hits and Anna Sweatt 2. Avery Queen fanned 7 with a walk for the win.

FPD 20, Howard 2
          Jessica Jones belted 3 homers to lead FPD, which got bombs from Hannah Davis and Lyric Jones. Jessica Jones drove in 6 runs, Lyric 5. Davis also had 3 hits, while Mallie Moughan and Emily Claire Howard had 2 hits each. Gracyn Fuller fanned 8 for FPD, which hosts Gatewood on Thursday. Howard welcomes Peach County on Wednesday.

Mary Persons 9, Fayette 1
          Taylor Mostettler led the Bulldogs with a 3-for-3 night, including 2 doubles. Fayette tied it at 1 in the fourth, but the Bulldogs answered with 7 runs in the bottom half, keyed by a 2-run double from Sarah Davis. Olivia Woodgeard whiffed 10 and teamed with Sara Grace Errera for a no-hitter. The Bulldogs swiped 6 bases.

Peach County 7, Crawford County 3
          Shaniyah Gibson went 3-for 4, including a triple, to lead the Trojans, who took a 2-0 lead after one. Gracie Martin went the distance for the win, holding the Eagles from scoring despite Peach County having only a one-hit advantage. Jaydyn Rogers had 3 hits for Crawford County.      

Schley County 7, Bleckley County 6
          The Royals fell on the road despite outhitting Schley County 12-10 and leading 6-2 in the fifth. Kayle Rae Barrs, Jada Davis, and Zoey Adams had 2-hit nights for the Royals, losing pitcher Emmie Williams with 3 hits.      

Stratford 11, Gatewood 3
          An 8-run third inning put the Eagles in charge, sparked by Shamiya Rainesā€™ 3-run double. Raines drove in 3 runs, while Graci Kluge had 3 hits and Cordtney Galoia 2.

Tattnall 14, George Walton 6
          Callie Still belted a 3-run homer in the fourth as part of a 3-hit, 4-RBI night for the Trojans. Molly Kemp added a 2-run homer, and Abigayle Baugh, Grady Appling, Callie Still, and Annamary Talcott also had bombs.

Westfield 10, Wilcox County 1
          Cate Raines drove in 6 runs with 2 homers for the Hornets, who sealed it with 5 in the fourth. Madeline Katz added 2 hits, and four Hornets scored 2 runs each.

Windsor 16, Crisp 5
          New head coach Stephanie Butler got her first career win. Abby Brice had 3 hits and 4 runs to lead the Knights, who trailed 4-0 after an inning but scored 6 in the bottom of the second to take control. Price got the win, who along with Piper Lambert had 3 hits.
