A 5-run fifth put the Lancers in charge, helped by 4 Heritage errors.

Dodge County 9, Bleckley County 8
The Indians survived in their season opener, courtesy of a 6-4-3 game-ending double play. The teams scored 6 runs in the fifth and 7 in the sixth, the Royals hurt by 4 errors. Dodge County outscored Bleckley County 7-6 in the fifth and sixth for the win.

East Laurens 12, Dublin 0

FPD 18, Howard 0
The Vikings ended it with 12 runs in the fifth. Lyric Jones and Emily Claire Howard teamed for 5 hits and 5 runs. Gracyn Fuller fanned 13 in the 1-hitter. FPD is at Covenant Thursday, and Howard hosts Hawkinsville on Wednesday.

Lamar County 6, Marion County 3
Bailey Gunter had 4 RBI on 2 hits – a homer and triple -to lead the Trojans, who survived 2 more errors than Marion County.

Locust Grove 3, Jones County 2
The Greyhounds outhit the hosts by 2, but Locust Grove scored twice in the sixth for the lead and held on. Allie Miller had 3 hits for Jones County.

Peach County 14, Rutland 0, 4 inn.
The Trojans racked up 7 in the first and third, and were helped by 7 Rutland errors, the Hurricanes held to a hit by Gracie Martin and Alyssa Crozier. Crozier, Shaniyah Gibson, and Ta’Mori Hollingshed had 2 hits each, Gibson with a 2-run homer and Hollingshed with an inside-the-parker.

Tattnall 25, Mount Vernon 10
Gradie Appling went off in a big way, with 6 RBI on 4 hits, including a pair of homers, one a slam. Callie Still went off in a big way, with 7 RBI on 3 hits. Molly Kemp had 2 hits and 3 runs, and Reese Covington had 3 hits, 3 runs, and 3 RBI.

Stratford 9, Loganville Christian 1

Taylor County 7, Perry 6
The Vikings took a 4-1 lead after 2 only for the Panthers to tie it in the fourth. But Skyler Searcy opened the sixth with a double for Taylor County, and came in with the lead run after a walk and two passed balls for the win. The teams combined for 26 hits. Searcy went 4 for 5 for Taylor County, Alyssa Nipper adding 3 hits and Molleigh Gassett 2. Anna Dean went 4 for 4 for Perry, Mackenzie Crumbley, Nyah Thomas, and Rayanna Harrell with 2 hits each.

Veterans 12, Mary Persons 0, 4 inn.
The Bulldogs’ first loss was a big one, the Warhawks taking control with a 5-run third keyed by Bella Fendley’s 2-run double. They put up another 5 in the fourth, Hailey Maloney with a 2-run double. Maddy Kincaide fanned 4 in 4 innings. Kharisma White, Rayven Hodridge, and Fendley each had 2 hits for Veterans. The Bulldogs face Upson-Lee on Thursday.
