          Latrell Schafer did it again.

          Two years ago, Schafer won a state title in the 145-pound class. Last year, he did it at 175.

          And Saturday, he repeated again, the Veterans senior completing another undefeated season by taking down Luke Hayes of South Paulding with a technical fall in Class 5A at the GHSA state wrestling finals at the Macon Coliseum.

          Schafer went 51-0 last year, and 43-0 this season, helping Veterans to a top-20 finish. The Warhawks were deeper last year and finishing ninth in Class 6A.

          Schafter was joined atop the awards podium by J.T. Powers of West Laurens and Clint Williamson of Lamar County.

          Powers won by fall in just under four minutes at 157 in 4A, to finish 66-3 and help the Raiders to a 13th-place finish, while winning a secod straight title, after taking the 150-pound crown last year, over the same wrestler, Zeb Dawkins of Walnut Grove.

          Williamson needed only 20 more second to do the same at 285 in Class A, also repeating, in the same weight class. He also took down the same opponent for the second consecutive year, Michael Joiner of Irwin County.

          Perry’s Donovan Funsch took second in 4A at 285, losing only 4-1 to Guillermo Rosales of Johnson. It was a rematch of their battle last eyar for fourth place, won 6-2 by Rosales.

          Several teams finished in the top 10 in their respective classes: No. 7 Perry (Class 4A), No. 8 Upson-Lee (Class 3A) and Lamar County (Class A), and No. 9 Jones County (Class 5A).

          Some results in Class 4A and 5A and in girls were not posted as completed on the www.trackwrestling.com site as of 3 a.m.
