GMC at home for JC playoff
A pair of powers will go at it when GMC JC hosts Hutchinson Community College in a National Junior College Athletic Association.
Hutchinson visits GMC at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday (ESPN+). GMC is 10-1 and ranked second while Hutchinson is 9-1 and ranked third. Top-ranked Iowa Western (11-1) thumped No. 4 Northwest Mississippi (10-2) 42-21 in the other semifinal on Friday.
The championship is Dec. 18 in Canyon, Texas.
Hutchinson is making is third straight semifinal trip. The teams are second and third nationally in rushing, GMC led by Keenan Phillips’ 827 yards and 18 touchdowns.
